We are deeply saddened over the mass shootings that took place in Lewiston this week. Our hearts are with the families of all of the innocent victims impacted by this tragic event.

We are mobilizing to support our colleagues, members, providers and clients through this horrific assault on our community. We are actively working as a resource to our members and collaborating directly with local hospital systems to remove any barriers to care. In addition, we are making donations to the central and mid-coast Maine chapter of the American Red Cross, United Way of Androscoggin County and the Maine Community Foundation in honor of the victims and their families.

Tragedies like this are always shocking and can leave us feeling vulnerable and scared. This can have a long-lasting impact not only on the communities where they take place, but on our collective mental health and well-being. Members in need of behavioral health or community support should call Harvard Pilgrim Behavioral Health Member Services at 888-777-4742. We also offer 1:1 counseling and virtual health support services via Doctor On Demand

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this senseless act. There is no place for this type of violence in the world.
