Health plans that prioritize virtual care

The first New England health insurer to do so, Harvard Pilgrim now offers two, innovative virtual-first health insurance plans.

SimplyVirtual℠ HMO

SimplyVirtual is an affordable alternative for members who value the flexibility of telehealth, as well as the relationship-centered experience of having a PCP. SimplyVirtual plan members can engage with PCPs and a dedicated care team through video, voice and in-app messaging 24/7 via the Doctor On Demand digital platform on their smartphone or computer. Preventive health, chronic care management, urgent care and integrated behavioral health are all provided through a seamless, virtual experience for patients while access to office-based care and referrals for services that cannot be completed virtually are also available. Members ages 19 and under will have access to an office-based PCP.

SimplyVirtual℠ HMO is available to both large group and small group employers in Maine and New Hampshire.

Virtual Choice℠ HMO

Virtual Choice takes virtual care to the next level, with a virtual-first primary care model. This innovative plan delivers the best of both worlds for families, allowing each adult family member to receive primary care in the way that’s best for them — virtually or in person. Members choose a virtual primary care provider (PCP) through Doctor On Demand. Or, if they prefer a traditional office-based experience (or are age 19 and under), they can choose a PCP from Harvard Pilgrim’s New England HMO network.
