About hospital-based medical weight loss programs

Contrary to what many people think, not all weight loss programs are operated by retail commercial chains, or sold via the Internet. Many excellent programs are based in local community hospitals, or clinics, supervised by medical staff with degrees, and have been around a long time.

Hospitals see weight loss programs as a natural fit, since they already have the facility (the hospital) and don’t have to lease additional space. They also have a fitness center, often used for physical rehab purposes. And, they already have a comprehensive staff of registered dietitians/nutrition experts, nurses, psychologists, physicians, surgeons and more.

Contact your local hospital to see if they offer a weight loss program.

Be sure to check with your physician before starting any fitness or weight loss program.
