Coronavirus information for BILH employees
Harvard Pilgrim and BILH have been working together to actively monitor the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and what it means for BILH employees and their families. Below you’ll find information about your Harvard Pilgrim coverage related to coronavirus, as well as links to other important resources and information.
COVID-19 testing coverage
To facilitate the ability to receive necessary testing for suspected COVID-19 exposure, and until further notice, we are waiving cost sharing (meaning there will be no deductible, copayment, or coinsurance) regardless of where care is received, for:
- The COVID-19 test
- Doctors office, urgent care and emergency room services to receive COVID-19 testing
- You will have access to out-of-network providers for the initial COVID-19 test when no in-network providers are available
COVID-19 treatment coverage
As of March 31, 2020 a decision was made to waive cost sharing (meaning there will be no deductible, copayment or coinsurance) for treatment provided by in-network providers. The same coverage also applies to emergency services related to COVID-19 treatment administered by out-of-network providers. This enhanced policy is effective through June 1, 2020; we will reassess as circumstances warrant.
If you or a covered family member received treatment prior to March 31, you will not be responsible for the associated charges. Your claim(s) automatically will be reprocessed and covered in full.
No prior authorization and referrals required
Please note that there will be no prior authorization and referral requirements, where applicable, so you can get timely medically necessary testing and treatment.
