Peak Mind: Strengthening the Power of Your Attention
An exclusive virtual workshop for BILH employees and their spouses
DATE: Wednesday, September 21
TIME: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
About this event
Our lives are so full, we’re in a constant “crisis of attention.” Digital distractions, demands at work, and uncertainty all fracture our focus, leaving us in a cognitive fog.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Amishi Jha has been studying the brain science of attention. What she’s learned is that attention is powerful. It helps us to weather high-stress periods, and more effectively take in new information and commit that information to long-term memory.
The good news is, we can train our brains to pay better attention using mindfulness training, in as little as 12 minutes a day.
Why attend?
Dr. Jha will share with you the science of attention and what she’s learned from offering mindfulness training in classrooms and boardrooms, and on sports fields and battlefields. She’ll introduce you to mindfulness exercises you can add to your personal wellness toolkit to help you find your focus and own your attention.
During this one-hour session, you’ll learn:
- What mindfulness is — and how mindfulness exercises strengthen attention and curb mind wandering
- About the systems of attention — what they are, factors that deplete them, and their relationship to wellness.
- Strategies to help you control mind wandering and rumination.
