Urgent Care Options
Visiting the ER is time consuming and expensive. But did you know that according to NEHI, the New England Health Institute, 56% of all visits are avoidable?
We all have minor illnesses and accidents. There are times when we need care right away, but it’s not life threatening. Harvard Pilgrim offers a variety of options for you to get care in a different setting than the ER, no matter where you live or work, that will save you time and money.
If you think you’re having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest ER.
Common medical emergencies that should be treated in an ER include:
- Heart attack
- Loss of consciousness
- Major blood loss
- Severe abdominal pain
- Severe head trauma
See if you can get a same-day appointment.
If you seek care outside your PCP office, please request that the provider share documentation with your PCP to better manage your care.
