Behavioral Health Benefits and Resources

Through our partnership with United Behavioral Health (also known as Optum), you have access to resources and treatment for a wide number of mental health issues.*

Behavioral or mental health issues can be complex, confusing and sometimes overwhelming.  If you think you need help  but aren’t sure where to begin, you can start by calling our Behavioral Health Access Center (888) 777-4742 to speak confidentially with a licensed clinician.

Our trained staff at the Access Center can help you better understand your coverage, treatment options, and how to make the most of your plan benefits.

Whether you’re calling for yourself or a loved one — and whatever the issue: depression or anxiety, ADHD, an eating disorder or concerns about substance use or addiction, we can help you get started.

If you need help right away, please contact us immediately at (888) 777-4742.

If this is an emergency, please call 911 right now or go to your local emergency room.

*Please note that some employers do not offer behavioral health coverage through Harvard Pilgrim.

Your benefits and coverage

While the Behavioral Health Access Center is always available to assist, you can go directly to My Plan Documents at any time to get your benefit and coverage details. You can learn more about behavioral health topics and resources, manage your claims, and access your explanation of benefits on Optum's Live and Work Well member website.

Find the right clinician

The provider listing includes clinicians, counselors and therapists in a number of specialties such as Applied Behavioral Analysis**, Substance Use, Psychiatry, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Social Work.

Please download the Confidential Exchange of Information Form and take it with you to your behavioral health provider. With your signed consent, your behavioral health provider can share information with your primary care provider to better manage your treatment, medicines and follow-up care, particularly if you have co-existing behavioral and medical concerns.

**Not all employers offer coverage for Applied Behavioral Analysis.
