Harvard Pilgrim has once again been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for our commitment to clinical excellence, receiving a rating of 4.5 out of 5 for our private HMO/POS and PPO plans on their annual rating of private health plans. Our New Hampshire affiliate, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care of New England, was also rated 4.5 out of 5 for its private HMO/POS plans.*
“In today’s challenging health care environment, Harvard Pilgrim is successfully offering its members high-quality health care, in partnership with providers, employers, brokers, and, of course, our employees,” said Eric H. Schultz, president and chief executive officer of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. “Going forward, we will continue to focus on offering our members a premier experience in every interaction with our company.”
The ratings are based on clinical quality as measured by The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), a tool developed by NCQA to enable purchasers and consumers to make reliable comparisons of health care plan performance; consumer satisfaction measures from the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS); and NCQA’s accreditation standards ratings.
