With Medicare’s annual enrollment period underway, Harvard Pilgrim would like to highlight a few enhancements to our Medicare Advantage StrideSM (HMO) plan benefits for 2016. Harvard Pilgrim’s Medicare Advantage products provide members with access to the health care covered by Medicare, as well as additional services that regular Medicare does not offer.
New for 2016, in support of these goals, all of Harvard Pilgrim’s Medicare Advantage Stride (HMO) plans will offer an annual physical to members at no cost share. This benefit goes above and beyond the standard annual wellness visit covered by traditional Medicare, and reflects Harvard Pilgrim’s commitment to promoting the general health and well-being of our members.
Additionally, Stride members can take advantage of Tier 1 Generic Drugs at retail and mail order pharmacies and an annual routine eye exam with no additional out-of-pocket costs. We have also increased our fitness reimbursement and Stride members may now be reimbursed up to $200 per calendar year for belonging to a qualified health and fitness club. In line with Harvard Pilgrim’s focus on fostering wellness in our member population, we emphasize the value of encouraging your patients to take advantage of the health-promoting benefits available to them.
