Harvard Pilgrim has once again been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for our commitment to clinical excellence, receiving a rating of 5 out of 5 for our private HMO/POS and PPO plans on their annual rating of private health plans. Our New Hampshire affiliate, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care of New England, was rated 4.5 out of 5 for its private HMO/POS plans.
"This rating continues our history of being one of the highest-ranked private health plans in America,” said Eric H. Schultz, president and chief executive officer of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. “Thanks to strong partnerships with our doctors, hospitals, employers, brokers and, of course, our employees, we have successfully delivered on this promise and will continue setting the bar high for our members. In addition, we want to empower members to make the best health care decisions for themselves and their families by making cost and quality information more accessible.”
The ratings are based on clinical quality as measured by The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS)®, a tool developed by NCQA to enable purchasers and consumers to make reliable comparisons of health care plan performance.
