Tier Increase for Rebif on Premium Formularies

Effective April 1, 2015, Rebif — a medication used to treat patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS)  to reduce the frequency of symptom flare-ups and slow physical problems caused by the disease — will move from Tier 2 to Tier 3 on the 3-Tier Premium Formulary, and from Tier 3 to Tier 4 on the 4-Tier Premium Formulary. Rebif is already covered on the highest tier for both the 4-Tier and 5-Tier Value formularies. Members with the Premium Formulary benefit who filled a prescription for Rebif in the past 6 months were notified of the tier change earlier this month.
