Harvard Pilgrim's HEDIS Spotlight highlights information, tips, and resources to support quality care delivery on important health issues. This month’s HEDIS spotlight focuses on blood pressure control.
The HEDIS blood pressure measure applies to members 18 to 85 years of age who had a diagnosis of hypertension and whose blood pressure was adequately controlled (below 140/90) during the measurement year. Visit the HEDIS Spotlight page to view, download, or print the complete “Controlling High Blood Pressure” tip sheet, which includes resources for providers and patients, including the “ABCD’s of blood pressure measurement.” This may be a useful tool for your practice to ensure that blood pressure measurements are accurate and consistent.
