News and Information for the
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Network

February 2013

Growing the Medicare Advantage Network

Throughout 2013, Harvard Pilgrim will continue to contact providers in targeted counties to participate in our new Medicare Advantage HMO product. Effective January 1, 2014, Harvard Pilgrim plans to offer a Medicare Advantage HMO product to Medicare beneficiaries in Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire.*

If you’ve received a Medicare Advantage contract information packet from Harvard Pilgrim, we encourage you to complete and return it as quickly as possible. Harvard Pilgrim’s aim is to offer a comprehensive, high-quality Medicare Advantage provider network, and to achieve this goal we need your participation.

Packets include two copies of a Medicare Advantage Contract Amendment to be signed and returned, a provider or facility information form for completion, and a fact sheet with additional details on Harvard Pilgrim’s Medicare Advantage product. Some provider specialties—such as functional therapy, durable medical equipment, ambulance, and dialysis—also received credentialing information packets to complete and return in order to comply with CMS requirements. Any provider who receives a Medicare Advantage contract and/or credentialing packet in the mail is encouraged to review the information, and complete, sign, and return the requested documents in the enclosed stamped, addressed envelope within two weeks. The mailing address is:

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
1600 Crown Colony Drive
Quincy, MA 02169
ATTN: Network Services

We will counter-execute and return one signed original amendment to you for your records. For more information, please call Harvard Pilgrim’s Provider Service Center at 1-800-708-4414.

* Pending approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
