On January 1, 2013, Dartmouth-Hitchcock began partnering with Harvard Pilgrim’s wholly owned subsidiary Health Plans, Inc to offer a new preferred network plan for its employees. The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Plan, which is administered by Health Plans, currently has close to 17,000 members.
This plan features a three-tier design with a deductible and out-of-pocket maximum cost sharing. Members must pre-certify admissions and certain outpatient services. However, members can see any provider in or out of network, and do not need a referral to see a specialist.
Members of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Plan carry a customized card, which includes logos for Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Harvard Pilgrim, and Health Plans, as shown in the example below. The back of the card features information on member eligibility verification, claim submission, pharmacy, and pre-certifying inpatient stays.
Visit Health Plans, Inc. to view the pre-certification list, as well as tier assignments for Harvard Pilgrim network providers. Please call Health Plans at (866) 471-5550 with any additional questions.
