2016 Impact Results

Harvard Pilgrim Foundation's Healthy Food Fund is Working!

In 2016, the amount of healthy, local produce distributed to low income families increased 87 percent as a result of Healthy Food Fund contributions to 26 organizations organizations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The amount of produce sold increased 63 percent. The Foundations' total investment of $ 1 million produced more than double that amount in value of sold or distributed food. Independent evaluaters presented these findings to the Harvard Pilgrim Foundation's Board on March 16, 2017.

"We are so pleased we can show how relatively small investments in local organizations can measurably improve access to healthy food," according to the Foundation's President, Karen Voci.
