Karen Voci

Karen Voci

Since her arrival, Karen has focused the Foundation’s strategic initiatives on preventing childhood obesity, raising the visibility of employee giving and service, and promoting the Foundation’s expertise in cultural and linguistic competence. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served as Senior Vice President of Programs for The Rhode Island Foundation, one of the nation’s largest community foundations. Karen holds degrees in sociology from Simmons College and The American University. She has also served as an elected representative to the school committee of East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

Mike Devlin

Michael Devlin
Director of Grants and Initiatives

In addition to his role as Director of Grants and Initiatives, Mike is the Foundation’s Healthy Food Fund representative in New Hampshire and Eastern Massachusetts. In 2004 he helped start Harvard Pilgrim’s program for employee giving and service. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mike was Director of the Massachusetts Prevention Center in Framingham as well as Associate Director for International Programs at Boston University School of Public Health where he received his MPH. He started his career in the Peace Corps as a Nutrition and Health Volunteer in the Philippines.

Janelle Woods-McNish

Janelle Woods-McNish
Director of Giving and Service

As the Foundation’s Director of Giving and Service, Janelle manages Harvard Pilgrim's employee service and giving initiative. In this role Janelle creates, promotes and implements employee volunteer opportunities and fund-raising for charitable causes. Over the past five years, Janelle has built service and giving initiatives to help Harvard Pilgrim build healthier communities and achieve its goal of becoming a good corporate citizen. Janelle is a graduate of Texas A&M University and Boston College where she received her B.B.A in Marketing and International Business and Master of Arts in Higher Education respectively. She recently received her MBA at Simmons College.

Shani Dowd

Shani Dowd, BA, LHD(hc), LCSW
Director of Health Equity Roundable

A clinician with extensive experience treating a wide variety of cultural groups, Shani is a frequent presenter at major teaching conferences. Ms. Dowd is currently a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at the Boston University School of Medicine and at the Boston University Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology. Shani is a recipient of the Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, in acknowledgement of her work to bring quality mental health care to communities of color.

Kim Moore

Kimberly Winn
Senior Communications Specialist

As the Senior Communications Specialist, Kim is an experienced media strategist and communicator who works to elevate the profile of the Foundation as a thought leader nationally and throughout Harvard Pilgrim’s four-state region. She manages all internal and external communications needs of the Foundation including the creation and implementation of a strategic communications plan, media relations, and all content for Foundation communication newsletters and publications. Prior to joining the Foundation, Kim was senior vice president at Montagne Communications in Manchester, N.H. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Rhode Island.

Andrea Velázquez

Andrea Velázquez
Program Coordinator


Andrea coordinates Culture InSight’s Cross Cultural Training Classes and acts as a co-facilitator in several classes where she brings her bilingual, bi-cultural and medical interpretation skills to the table. Andrea is also a member of the training team for Harvard Pilgrim’s “Working With Difference” employee workshops. Andrea is active in numerous bilingual, and multicultural activities outside of Culture InSight. She is currently pursing a bachelor’s degree in business at Cambridge College.

Ashley Hackett

Ashley Hackett
Senior Program Specialist


As the Foundation Program Specialist, Ashley manages the grant portfolio for the Healthy Food Fund in Central and Western Massachusetts. In addition, she provides research and technical support to other Foundation initiatives. Ashley was previously at Care Force, the national civic engagement team of City Year, where she led corporate volunteers in transformative service and helped plan and implement various projects around the country. She graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Sports Medicine.

Henny Mulatre

Henocson (Henny) Mulatre
Associate Program Specialis

Henny coordinates and implements the Foundation’s Service and Giving initiatives. He oversees the 9/11 Mini-Grants program, supports employee engagement efforts, and manages service events in Boston, Maine and New Hampshire. Prior to joining the Foundation, Henny was Program Manager for City Year New Hampshire and was a Corps Member from August 2011 to June 2012. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida.

Caitlin Sullivan

Caitlin Sullivan
Associate Program Specialist

Caitlin provides communication and programmatic support to the Foundation’s Service and Giving initiatives, Healthy Food Fund, and Communications’ programs. She ensures effective delivery of grant making and community activities, high quality services to nonprofit community partners as well as effective communication. Caitlin was previously a service coordinator for Loyola University Maryland’s Center for Community Service and Justice where she planned and led service opportunities for students in Baltimore. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Loyola University Maryland in 2017.

Deborah Liu

Deborah Liu
Administrative Assistant

Deborah serves as the administrative assistant to the President of the Foundation and provides administrative support for Foundation Board of Directors activities. She additionally serves as budget coordinator and administrative assistant to the director of the Foundation’s Culture InSight program. Previously, Deborah was employed in the provost’s office at Brandeis University and the graduate dean’s office at Babson College. Deborah holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Wellesley College.
