Urgent care options and ER alternatives

ER visits are time consuming and expensive for members and employers. No matter where they live or work, Harvard Pilgrim members have a variety of options — other than the ER — for getting non-emergency care.

These options include virtual visits through Doctor On Demand, convenience care clinics and urgent care centers. Depending on a member’s specific plan, out-of-pocket costs for these options are likely less expensive than an emergency room visit.

Doctor On Demand

With a smartphone, tablet or computer and an internet connection, members can get care without leaving the house — and save time and money in the process.
